The greenhouse film with IR additive absorbs the infrared light coming from the sun and reflecting from the sun, and enables the interior of greenhouse stay warmer than the outside areas. Since the heated china clay particles present in the IR additive are very tiny ( 1/1000 of a mm), it covers the surface of the film with a thin layer of clay and keeps the IR light inside. So it enables the greenhouse film to heat&cool slowly and balances the heat difference between day/night inside the greenhouse.(Fig. 1 )

Its effect does not decrease in time. It lasts as long as the film is used. But it is not the same in films with antivirus and antifog additives. The effect of such additives are limited. Although the greenhouse fılm is still strong, the effect of such additives end after 15-24 months.

| Infrared light cannot be seen by human eye, but be noticed by heat. These lights can easily pass through the atmosphere and reach the earth even during foggy weather. During winter time, the plants have the danger to get frost even at 1-2 degrees at night. IR should be added to the greenhouse fılm to prevent this. |

IR additives helps the light inside the greenhouse be distributed homogeniously and this enables max. photosynthesis and plant growth. Researches has proven that in such cases the vield of plants increase 20-30%. Besides, the light which comes directly without any scattering will cause burns on the plants and decrease plant quality. IR additive is added to scatter the light and prevent these burns on the plants. (Fig.2)
